Paul Mccartney married Heather Mills because 'He was lonely'.
Marianne Faithfull believes that Sir Paul McCartney married Heather Mills because he was lonely following the death of his first wife Linda McCartney (Who died in 1998 of breast cancer.
The British star claims the reason behind the former Beatle's quick marriage to model Mills was because he did not want to grow old alone.
She says, "He's going through such a terrible time. It's hard to imagine how he got himself into his current mess.
"He wasn't used to sleeping alone. He missed Linda. Poor Paul."
McCartney and Mills married in Monaghan, Ireland, in June 2002 after a dating for two and a half years.

I'm sure Paul was lonely, but he married Mills four years after Linda's death - that's not really a "quick."

LONELY? wow! duh.. that's so profound! of course, he was lonely-- that's just it, he was also deluded he could have 'found' the right partner when he was still grieving over Linda.
by the way, Linda wanted him to remarry. vanity fair wrote quite a long report about Linda & her illness & death after a year. good read.
