Phil Spector in court
A jury has heard how music producer Phil Spector held a gun to his ex-lover's head before demanding she remove her clothes during the second day of his murder trial.

Phil Spector has been accused of the fatal shooting of actress Lana Clarkson, who was found slumped in the foyer of his Los Angeles home in February 2003. He has pleaded not guilty and claims Clarkson committed suicide.

His former girlfriend Dorothy Melvin, who is comedienne Joan Rivers' ex-manager, gave evidence in the Los Angeles Superior Court on Thursday, and claimed, that Spector once chased her before hitting her over the head with a shotgun.

Melvin is just one of the four women that have been victims of gun violence at the hands of the troubled producer, according to prosecutors.

Recalling the ordeal, Melvin says, "I started screaming at him and saying, 'What the fuck are you doing?' and he started shouting at me to get back inside the house.

"He was pointing a snub-nosed revolver at me, holding it with both hands.

Then he took his right hand that he was holding the gun with and smacked me in the side of the head.

"Something sharp hit my head. It was then that I knew I was in trouble."

The trial continues.
