Sarah Jessica Parker says that her new clothing line is suitable for everyone

Sarah Jessica ParkerFormer 'Sex and The City' star Sarah Jessica Parker claims that the other celebrity designers don't cater for the "real" women out there.

She says that her brand new fashion line, 'Bitten', offers affordable "simple" clothes, compared to the "high fashion" "high price" ranges by the likes of Jennifer Lopez and Gwen Stefani.

SJP told US Glamour magazine: "Madonna's line for H+M is extremely directional, provocative and sexy. I don't know J. Lo's line as well, but I know that it's much more trendy than Bitten.

"L.A.M.B. by Gwen Stefani is much more avant-garde, definitely high fashion. But I don't want to do that for women, because that's not really their lives. It's a way of giving women without financial means access to good, simple, well-made clothes to feel proud of."

The actress - who played fashionista Carrie Bradshaw in the Sex & The City series' about the sex lives of four New Yorkers - says that she feels guilty shelling out lots of money on designer clothes and bags.

She said: "I often return things because the spending gives me anxiety. But I'm not without my indulgences. And I don't pretend I'm not enjoying the great fortune I've had."

Sarah's new range 'Bitten' goes on sale in the U.S. on June 7.
