Paris' petition still on Schwarzenegger's desk

May 9 2007

The petition to spare hotel heiress Paris Hilton from 45-days in the slammer, is still sitting on the desk of California governor, and Terminator star, Arnold Schwarzenegger and it won’t be reviewed until the 26-year-old has exhausted all of her other legal options according to Aaron McLear, a spokesman for Arnold Schwarzenegger.

McLear stated “We’ll treat this as we would any other case of this nature, but it would be premature for the governor to get involved until the individual has exhausted his or her judicial remedies.”

After Hilton was sentenced to a stint in lockup for violating her probation a petition was started to ask the governor for a pardon. Over 4,000 signatures have been accumulated for the plea to spare the star of “The Simple Life” from a much harder life.

Hilton is slated to begin her sentence on or before June 5.
