Brad & Angelina "Adopted for Maddox"

Actress Angelina Jolie, has said that she decided to adopt a three-year-old Vietnamese boy to provide her adopted son, Cambodian Maddox with a sibling from a similar background.

Following the birth of their biological daughter Shiloh last year, the 31-year-old "Tomb Raider" star, and her partner Brad Pitt wanted to provide five-year-old Maddox with someone that he could connect with.

Brad & Angelina adopted Pax in March.

Jolie tells the upcoming June issue of US magazine Reader's Digest that after Shiloh's birth "suddenly somebody in the house looked like mommy and daddy.

"It became clear to us that it might be important to have somebody around who is similar to the other children so they have a connection.

"Maddox was very excited that his brother is from Asia." Jolie and Pitt also have a two-year-old adopted Ethiopian daughter, Zahara.
