Eli Roth: "George Clooney stole my money"

May 12 2007

George Clooney
Movie director Eli Roth has attacked movie star George Clooney, for "stealing his money" at the box office.

Ocean's Twelve, which starred Clooney, went head-to-head with Roth's Hostel in 2005 and there are sequels to both movies released this summer.

Although Hostel grossed $80 million worldwide, Eli Roth is still bitter about the rivalry.

He tells Empire magazine, "Fuck it, they stole my money with Ocean's Twelve! Why am I paying George Clooney's mortgage? "Hey there's nothing in their movie that's going to be as horrific as Hostel Part Two. If you want to see people gamble, go see Ocean's Thirteen. If you want to see people gambling with their lives - and losing horribly - go see Hostel Part Two!"

What a stupid comment for

What a stupid comment for this producer to make. George Clooney didn't take any money off of this guys plate; George just knew how to market a movie better then he did. If The hostel had as many hot guys in as Ocean's 12 then maybe his movie would have made more money. That is what made the whole Ocean series bankable.
