Jude Law's new film opens at Cannes
English Actor Jude Law's latest film "My Blueberry Nights" has opened with a bang at the 2007 Cannes Film Festival.
The British actor was one of the first "A-list celebrities" to arrive on the red carpet with co-star, singer-turned-actress Norah Jones, she made her acting debut as a waitress that travels across to US and ends up meeting Law, who plays a cafe owner, and the he pair end up sharing a steamy on-screen kiss which has set all the tongues wagging.
When Asked about the smooch scene, the singer said: "The kiss was the moment that Kar Wai had the most direction about.
"He was so excited when we did that scene. He knew exactly what he wanted and we shot it for a long time."
Other stars expected in Cannes include Ocean's 13 stars George Clooney & Brad Pitt, Julia Roberts and Matt Damon, as well as "Kill Bill" director, Quentin Tarantino and fellow directors Michael Moore & Martin Scorsese- U2's Bono is also expected to make an appearance
This judging panel for this year's festival is led by "The Queen" director, Stephen Frears and 22 films are in competition for the Palme d'Or - the highest prize given at the event.
It's the festival's 60th year, and lasts until May 27.
