Mick Jagger denies he is to wed girlfriend

Rolling Stones legend Sir Mick Jagger has dismissed rumors that he is to wed his girlfriend L'Wren Scott, after the stylist was seen flaunting a sparkling ring on her engagement finger at a recent New York fashion event.

On Tuesday this week, a spokesman for the aging British rocker insisted the couple have no plans to get married, despite a friend of Jagger suggesting otherwise.

The pal says, "Mick's really not the sort to have some kind of engagement. If they were going to get married, they would probably just do it.

"Yet it is interesting that L'Wren has on this occasion - a very public event in New York - decided to wear a ring on her engagement finger so obviously.

"If they are not engaged, they are certainly happy for the world to think they are. They are both savvy enough to realise what speculation such a pose may attract."

The rock frontman, 63, has been seeing 40-year-old Scott for over two years, first going public with their relationship at the 2005 Grammy Awards when Jagger called her his "main point of interest".

Mick Jagger has two failed marriages behind him: he divorced model Bianca Perez Morena de Macias in 1980 after nine years together, and his union to Texan supermodel Jerry Hall was annulled in 1999, putting an end to their 22-year relationship.
