Paris Hilton drops appeal

The controversy surrounding Paris Hilton and her upcoming stint in the Century Regional Detention Center may have run its course as the 26-year-old hotel heiress and Jail bate has reportedly dropped her plans to appeal the 45-day sentence handed to her at the start of the month.

It was revealed earlier today, that the socialite would be spending only 23 days behind bars at the Lynwood, California institution after she was credited for good behavior. Hilton appearing at her latest court date was enough for officials to knock off nearly half her original sentence.

Not only will Hilton serve half the time, she’ll do it in a segregated unit away from the general population due in large part to her celebrity status.

The co-star of “The Simple Life” is set to begin her sentence on June 5.
