Paris' sentence reduced

May 17 2007

It seems that showing up at your own court case constitutes good behavior in California, because Paris Hilton had her 45-day sentence reduced to 23 days due in large part to the fact she showed up at her most recent court date.

Not only did the 26-year-old socialite get her time reduced, she also earned a cell in a protected environment from the general population. Hilton will be placed with other prisoners who might cause unwanted attention in the segregated unit.

Hilton, the co-star of “The Simple Life,” was originally sentenced to 45 days for violating terms of her probation stemming from a reckless driving incident in which she was found to be over the legal limit for alcohol.

Paris must report to the Century Regional Detention Center in Lynwood, California on June 5 to start her sentence.
