George Michael addicted to prescription drugs

George Michael has confessed that he is hooked on prescription drugs.

The "Careless whisper" singer - who, back in 2006 was found slumped at the wheel of his car in London- has confirmed that he is addicted to pills.

When quizzed about addiction on British chat show Parkinson, the former 'Wham!' star said:

"Yes, it involves prescribed drugs and it involves a dependency on them and the tendency to chase one drug with another because of the side-effects."

George's mother died of cancer ten years ago (97) - and the star cites her passing as a catalyst to his problems.

The singer then added:

"I know I have a very self-destructive tendency since my mother died."

Earlier this month, George pleaded guilty to driving while under the influence of drugs, after the incident in London last year.
