Ty Pennington pleads no contest

TV lifestyle guru TY Pennington has pleaded no contest to charges of drunk driving.

The TV handyman, who currently fronts the hit reality TV show 'Extreme Makeover: Home Edition', was arrested on 5 May this year, after being caught by Los Angeles police - driving while twice over the legal blood alcohol limit.

The troubled star has already apologised for his foolish decision, stating, "Drinking and driving is never acceptable." Speaking after his court appearance yesterday, Pennington told TMZ:

"I hope this experience can help others as much as it has helped me." Pennington was initially charged with two counts of DUI. After recording his plea, the second charge was dropped.
