Kate Winslet: The New Face Of Lancome

British actress Kate winslet has been named the new celebrity spokesperson for cosmetics giants Lancome as part of an Internet launch in Paris, France.

Winsler greeted a crowd of fans in Paris yesterday, after she was announced as the new face of the new "Tresor fragrance".

The "Titanic" actress was chosen as the successor to actress Isabella Rossellini, who appeared in ads for the company last year.

Previous star faces for Lancome include Uma Thurman and movie hunk Clive Owen.

Kate Winslet burst on the cinema screen in 1994 in Peter Jackson's critically acclaimed Heavenly Creatures.

Since then the actress has gone on to pick up five Oscar nominations for her roles in Iris, Titanic, Sense and Sensibility, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind and Little Children.

She became the youngest actress to gain five nominations , a record prevoiusly held by Olivia de Havilland. And her nomination for Titanic secured her the record of the youngest ever double Oscar nominee.
