Shemar Moore charged with DUI

Actor Shemar Moore has been charged with two counts of driving under the influence (DUI).

The 37-year-old, who's currently starring in the US TV series "Criminal Minds", was arrested in the early hours of June 1st, after being pulled over by Los Angeles police for reportedly speeding near Santa Monica Boulevard at 1.30am.

According to the arrest report, Moore "displayed signs of alcohol impairment and a DUI investigation was conducted".

Moore was arrested and taken to a local police station, before being released after posting $5,000 bail.

Just hours after being charged with two counts of driving under the influence (DUI) on Friday of last week, the 37-year-old's lawyer made the plea and the DUI charges were dropped.

The actor has been fined $1,400 and ordered to do community service after entering a no-contest plea to speeding.

Moore has also been placed on probation,

He was due in court on Tuesday (26Jun07). If he had been found guilty, he faced six months in jail and a $1000 fine.
