Ashlee Simpson Gets Engaged to Pete Wentz

Ashlee Simpson & Pete Wentz

Ashlee Simpson and "Fall Out Boy" frontman Pete Wentz are engaged. Wentz reportedly proposed to Ashlee Simpson at his Live Earth performance in New Jersey.

The couple are trying to keep their wedding news under wraps because Simpson doesn’t want all the media attention that her sister, Jessica Simpson, had when she married singer Nick Lachey.

“Ashlee and Pete are desperate to keep the engagement quiet for as long as they can so they can make wedding plans in peace,” an insider claims. “She defiantly doesn’t want a big circus wedding like Jessica had when she married Nick. All she wants is a simple ceremony with her family, his family and a handful of people.”

Simpson and Wentz apparently got engaged on July 7th. “Ashlee wasn’t expecting it at all, it was a total surprise. Pete whipped out a big engagement ring, dropped down on one knee, and asked Ashlee to be his bride. Ashlee said yes right away,” a source said.

GOD!!! Why does very hollywood couple NEED to get married. Im not against marriage or anything but their a little too young to get engaged just like that. They seem like a perfect pair, his eyelner wearing and her Jessica Simpson wannabe persona might clash.
