Lindsay Lohan Turns Herself In; Facing DUI and Hit and Run Charges

Troubled actress Lindsay Lohan turned herself in yesterday afternoon to face charges stemming from her now infamous Memorial Day weekend, where she was found to be driving with a blood-alcohol level above California’s 0.08 percent and hit and run.

Lindsay was 20-years-old at the time of the accident in which she crashed her 2005 Mercedes SL-65 into a curb on Sunset Boulevard. Before police could arrive Lohan jumped into a second car and was taken to a hospital for minor injuries.

Witnesses at the scene informed police that Lohan has been the driver of the vehicle and they were able to locate the “Georgia Rule” star at a local hospital.

Shortly after the incident Lohan checked herself into a rehabilitation center for alcohol and drug treatment. She remained in treatment for six weeks and remains part of a voluntary program that monitors her progress.

Lohan was accompanied by her attorney on Thursday when she turned herself in at the Beverly Hills Police Department to be fingerprinted and photographed. She was then released on her own recognizance with a court date being set for August 24.
