50 Cent & Kanye West
Rap rivals Kanye West and 50 Cent are to go head to head on September 11th this year, as it's the day that both of their new albums are released

In June, Kanye West decided to release his third album 'Graduation' early, on August 21st, in order to avoid a sales war with 50 Cent's new album 'Curtis.'

After originally planning to release Curtis in June, '50' delayed the album'til September 4th, then last week, he postponed it again until 11 September.

And according to a representative from Kanye's record label Def Jam, he has decided to release his album, Graduation on the same day

West's debut album 'College Dropout' won Best Rap Album at the 2005 Grammy awards and went on to produce three top twenty singles including Jesus Walks.

His second album 'Late Registration' hit the number one spot selling a whopping 600,000 copies in its first week alone. The album contained four successful singles including number one smash Gold Digger featuring Jamie Foxx.

50 Cent has also two previously released albums including his smash hit debut 'Get Rich Or Die Tryin', which shot the rapper to instant fame in 2003. The shifted a huge 872,000 copies in its first week, making it one of the highest opening sles for any rap album in history.

Since then the album has gone on to sell 12 million copies worldwide.

50's second album The massacre became the sixth fastest selling album when it sold 1.14 million copies in its first four days. It went on to sell 9 million worldwide.
