German Church slams Tom Cruise & Scientology

July 25 2007

Tom Cruise

A leading German church and Tom Cruise are rowing over his upcoming film,‘Valkyrie’. The protestant church compared Tom Cruise to a Nazi propaganda minister named Joseph Goebbels, and branded him "Lucifer" The church accuses the pint-sized actor of using his fame to promote the highly controversial cult Scientology.

Tom is filming his new movie, ‘Valkyrie,’ in Germany, it tells the true story of Col. Claus Schenk von Stauffenberg and how he plotted, but failed, to kill Adolf Hitler. Thomas Gandow, a chief spokesman on religious cults, called Scientology a “totalitarian organization.” He added that Cruise was “the Goebbels of Scientology.”

Gandow also accused Cruise of using the film as propaganda for Scientology. Cruise adamantly denies that he is using the film as propaganda.

Tom Cruise’s spokeswoman is striking back by issuing a statement to MSNBC’s The Scoop saying, “Mr. Gandow’s comments are both irresponsible and wrongheaded. ‘Valkyrie’ has nothing to do with Scientology. It is a historically accurate thriller developed by Bryan Singer and Christopher McQuarrie that presents the World War II resistance hero Col. Claus Schenk von Stauffenberg as the heroic and principled figure he was. To attempt to smear such a movie by comparing it to Nazi propaganda flies in the face of reason and logic – and even worse, it belittles the enormity of the Nazi crimes.”

All people who are thinking

All people who are thinking now that Thomas Gandow, a chief spokesman of the Protestantic Church in Germany (Founder: Antisemitist Martin Luther!), has right with that are totaly stupid. Idiots!

The greatest and badest Sect in Germany is the protestantic church. And these guys are the biggest enemies of scientology.

Interesting, is'n it?!

Were Mr. Cruise a

Were Mr. Cruise a parishioner of one of the two, official German Churches, instead of a Scientology parishioner, we would have different German reaction.

Just because you consider

Just because you consider the german church bad does not necessarily make that scifi cult good. Two wrongs don't make a right. That said, I can understand why germans would be shy about having them around since in some ways the cult does exhibit some nazi-like tendencies. Remember, the nazis (in their sick twisted way) also thought they were doing something good for the world.
