Kate Walsh leaves Grey's Anatomy

Kate Walsh
Kate Walsh’s character, Addison, is set to leave hit medical drama ' Grey's Anatomy', but insists that she's OK with it.

Some seem to think it's been an overall bad summer for ABC's hit medical series, after they axed Isaiah Washington after gay slurs he made towards fellow cast member T.R. Knight. However, Washington has since denied that he made any 'slurs' towards T.R. and claims that he used the term in an argument with another cast member, Patrick Dempsey.

With Addison's character being axed from the show, Kate Walsh admitted it was difficult for her to leave the show, “But at the same time, it’s such an amazing opportunity,” Walsh said.

Walsh left Grey’s Anatomy but will continue as 'Addison' in a new spin-off called “Private Practice.” “There is the same recipe of comedy and drama in the show. But there is defiantly more humor, I think. And the thing about Addison’s character is she’s off balance,” Walsh said. “She’s kind of like a cat without whiskers. And I think there’s innate humor in seeing someone taken out of their environment and dropped in a place even the most proficient professional would freak out a little.”

Walsh says she does miss her friends from Grey’s but she feels like it’s a “natural time for Addison to move on. What else could she do at Seattle Grace, really?”
