Barbara Walters: "Lindsay Lohan jokes went to far"

Lindsay Lohan
When actress Lindsay Lohan canceled her scheduled appearance on the 'Tonight Show' because her being arrested early in the morning due to the troubled actress DUI, Rob Schneider filled in for her. Schneider appeared on the show looking like Lohan, dressed in a black dress, blond wig, and a alcohol monitoring device strapped around his leg.

"We had Lindsay Lohan booked on the show tonight, but apparently she was already booked. It's too bad about Lindsay. I thought our competition was Nightline and Letterman. Turns out it's Cops and America's Most Wanted, jay Leno joked.

Lohan, who was set to appear on the show to promote her latest movie "I Know Who Killed Me," canceled after she was pulled over for chasing another car and arrested for possession of cocaine and DUI.

Barbara Walters says she thinks that Leno and Schneider crossed the line when Schneider appeared dressed like Lohan. Walters said on "The View" that "it just seems so mean" for comedians to make fun of the troubled actress. "The View" co-host Elizabeth Hasselbeck disagreed and says she doesn't fell bad "when a person who's drinking gets behind the wheel of a car when 43-thousand people a year are killed by drunk drivers."

I agree with Hasselbeck.

I agree with Hasselbeck. It's one thing for Lindsay to party her butt off and endanger her own life with alcohol and drugs. But when she takes to the road in such a condition, she's putting other people in danger, including those who were in the car with her.

She keeps using rehab as her crutch, then goes right back out and commits the same actions all over again. I have no sympathy for her; she sets herself up for ridicule when she keeps getting into trouble. If she actually learned from her actions, then maybe I'd be a little compassionate.
