The controversial advertisement for clothing giant H&M, starring popstar Madonna has been given the green light by British television censors.

The new TV commercial, which sees Madonna watching a young girl getting whipped and stripped by two men, was accused By UK audiences of encouraging paeodophilia.

But the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) dismissed the claims, insisting the commercial was "artistic".

They also said the actress starring in the commercial is 24-years-old and insisted she is not dressed in the style of a young girl.

However, the ASA agreed the advertisement would not be broadcast during children's television programs.
