Beth Ditto's "disgusted by British tabloids' lust for breasts"

Singer Beth Ditto has said that she is "disgusted by the British tabloids' penchant for topless ladies"

While The Gossip front-woman admits she finds Britain more accepting of her lesbianism and originality, she finds some aspects of the tabloid press very sexist.

She said: "It's not perfect, the U.K. can treat women really shitty; you guys have Page Three here, which I think is pretty weird, but at the same time it's just way more open to weirdos. And more diverse.

"Antony And The Johnsons wins awards here, and that would never happen in America, they wouldn't even be acknowledged in the America, everyone's just so worried about what's the right thing to do".

Many British tabloids, including Murdoch's newspaper 'The Sun', have topless women on the daily 'page three' feature.
