"The Simple Life" axed by network

"The Simple Life", which made Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie even more famous after its launch nearly 4 years ago has reportedly canceled. The show won't be picked up next season due to 'overexposure.'

Last season Nicole Richie allegedly became difficult to work with, leaving stress on the show and Paris Hilton.Paris carried the show. She was the one willing to do anything. Nicole was the diva,a source said.

The show was overshadowed by the socialite's personal lives. "We felt like the real life drama of their lives overshadowed anything that happening on the show. Viewers would see Paris all day long on the news about her going to jail, so they didn't care about seeing her camping with kids. It was just too played out," says an insider.

Nicole was recently sentenced to serve four days in jail after she was found guilty on DUI charges. She is also rumored to be pregnant with boyfriend Joel Madden's child. Richie has yet to confirm or deny rumors.
