Melanie Brown files a paternity suit against Eddie Murphy

The mother of Eddie Murphy's baby, Melanie Brown has filed a paternity case against the actor in order to gain child support and legally state that he is the father of her 4-month-old daughter, Angel Iris.
Melanie, who is due to reunite with band 'The Spice Girls' later in the year, made Murphy take a DNA test in June, after the actor denied he was the father earlier this year.
The paternity test proved that Eddie was the father, but Brown's lawyer, Gloria Allred, said paternity has not been legally acknowledged. "Allred also says that Murphy has not paid one penny of child support, and Brown is going to court to gain a reasonable amount of child support.
"Murphy was promising to do the right thing but to date he has not done the right thing. Mr. Murphy can have all the babies he chooses to have, but his responsibility needs to be to his own children. [Brown] is seeking sole physical and legal custody," Allred says.
"I want my daughter to know that she has two parents," Brown said. Murphy's spokesperson has not commented.
