Ricky Martin was too gay to propose

Ricky Martin apparently lost his nerve when he was planning to propose to his ex, even after buying the ring.

The "Livin' La Vida Loca" hitmaker bought an engagement ring on impulse but changed his mind about asking his then-girlfriend to marry him as soon as he left the jewelery store.

He recalls, "A few years ago I was going out with this girl and suddenly one day I got this urge to stop by a jewelery store to buy her a ring.

"But when I got the ring in my hand, I thought, 'What are you doing? You're not ready for this,' so I just took off."

But the 36-year-old Rick has insisted he doesn't have the same commitment issues he had back then. He adds, "If I had a girl now, I would (get married)."
