Rupert Everett defends Tom Cruise's scientology beliefs
Rupert Everett has defended Tom Cruise's scientology beliefs, following the controversial happenings in Germany recently.
The 'Shrek' star has spoke out about his appreciation for Cruise' brand religion: The Church of Scientology. However, German authorities have dismissed it, claiming his new movie, being filmed in the country is a "money-making cult to aid his religion".
But Everett has defended Cruise, insisting Scientology is no more outrageous than other religions.
He says: "People say Scientology is ridiculous, but it's no more ridiculous than the virgin birth, really. It's all the same madness."

Hey, why not, it is one of those historical action films that Hollywood has done well with in the past. Some of our global citizens would say their religion controls their every interaction. While other global citizens would say their profession is their primary interaction. In today's high-tech world it should make an interesting film.

Many comments are posted about Scientology come from people that think they know what it is. Many compare it to something they think it might be similar to. When they do that they show how little they know about it
Dianetics and Scientology are new and can't be compared to earlier philosophies.
Rupert has made some comments but if you read them he has no idea what he is talking about
The True Story Of Scientology
http://www.rehabilitatenz.co.nz/pages/true-story-of-scientology.html [Full Article]
The true story of Scientology® is simple, concise and direct. It is quickly told:
1. A philosopher develops a philosophy about life and death.
2. People find it interesting.
3. People find it works.
4. People pass it along to others.
5. It grows.
When we examine this extremely accurate and very brief account, we see that there must he in our civilization some very disturbing elements for anything else to he believed about Scientology®.
These disturbing elements are the Merchants of Chaos. They deal in confusion and upset. Their daily bread is made by creating chaos. If chaos were to lessen, so would their incomes.
The politician, the reporter, the medico, the drug manufacturer, the militarist and arms manufacturer, the police and the undertaker, to name the leaders of the list, fatten only upon “the dangerous environment.†Even individuals and family members can be Merchants of Chaos.

-SCIENTOLOGY TACTIC: Diversion ("But look at what everybody else is doing and believing!")-
Just because other religions have done bad things or believe crazy stuff does not necessarily make it okay for the scifi cult to do it too. Two wrongs don't make a right. Two (or more) crazy beliefs don't make sense.

.....Dianetics and Scientology are new and can’t be compared to earlier philosophies....
IS THAT SO?
Oh dear, someone is not doing their homework. In 1978 the Church of Scientology of California stated: "..a scientologist is the first cousin to the Buddhist and a distant relative of the Taoist.."
Total nonsense of course to anybody who has studied all three. Hubbard in 1954 said: "We find Scientology's earliest known ancestor in the Veda." He was just trying to legitamise his concepts but he could never convincingly explain the connection.
So, in a sense the statement that Scientology can't be compared with other philosophies is on the other hand true. But that's only because Ron talked rubbish. The ways and practices of the cult, however, do compare with the philosophies of totalitarian organisations like fascism.
Rupert Everett is shamefully uninformed. Scientology is not a religion-it's a way of strife.Have a look at xenu.tv if you disagree.
perhaps mr. everett would
perhaps mr. everett would like to spend a week or so with $cientology cult members who are stuck in their RPF or attend some forced abortions so the female member doesn't lose any work toward their "goals."
maybe it might be a good idea for mr. everett to really research this cult before he so non-chalantly defends tom cruise's right to pour millions of dollars into a cult that tramples all over our first and thirteenth amendment rights.
OR he could become tommy's bff and hang with him at all the coolest award's shows.
