Angelina Jolie says breastfeeding Shiloh was "tough"

August 11 2007

Angelina Jolie
Actress Angelina Jolie said that Breastfeeding her firstborn, daughter Shiloh was "hard" Jolie, who gave birth to the tot, whose father is Brad Pitt, in May 2006 - admits that she struggled to film 'A Mighty Heart' while nursing Shiloh.

She said: "I was pregnant when were preparing 'A Mighty Heart'. I had Shiloh, then I breastfed, then I did the film. I was breastfeeding but I could only do so much. It's hard. It was much harder than being pregnant."

Jolie only breastfed Shiloh for a few months, despite the UN recommending that women should continue to do so for around two years.

Angelina - whose relationship with Brad is rumored to be going through a rocky spell - revealed: "In Africa they don't have many alternatives and the water is not safe so I guess it makes sense to breastfeed for two years.

"But I did it for about three months and that was it. I don't sit still well, I hate to sit still. I ended up walking around a lot with her when I was doing it."

Only 3 months? Too bad money

Only 3 months? Too bad money can't buy health.

shut up people alot of women

shut up people alot of women don't breastfeed at all and their babies turn out fine.

so much fuss about birth, and breastfeeding??

The justification (if true) for not feeding, " I cannot sit still" is a bit lame. You can breastfeed and walk! just use a baby-carrier and you can breastfeed whenever! I still have to find a celebrity that brags about breastfeeding (which is hard but healthy), they all show off their pregnancies and the newly delivered babies, but if they breastfed tey would do MUCH MORE GOOD tu humankind!!!
