Criss Angel denies claims of dating Britney Spears

Popular illusionist Criss Angel has denied claims that he is dating troubled pop star Britney Spears.

They were spotted dining together at the Cravings Restaurant in Hollywood, leading to massive speculation on whether they were involved in a passionate relationship.

However, Angel has stated that the only reason the pair met, was to discuss the up-and-coming MTV Video Awards, and has insisted they were simply finalizing performance details for the event.

"It's amazing what people think. We're not together. Her manager is my manager, and I'm helping with one of her shows. I'm helping with her appearance on MTV," Criss told People.

Confirming that he did have dinner with Spears on Wednesday night, he added: "Yes, I'm here working on some stuff, and we went to that restaurant with 10 people. We were talking about how she wants to do something more with the [awards] show, and about me helping out and hoping to work with her on doing something to make her MTV appearance more innovative."
