Owen Wilson asks the media to give him privacy to 'heal'

Troubled actor Owen Wilson has issued a statement about his recent hospitalization, which asks the the media to respect his privacy and let him 'heal.' in peace. The 'Wedding Crashers' star was rushed to the hospital yesterday, and is said to be in "good condition." Reports say that the actor was hospitalized for attempted suicide. Wilson had allegedly slit his wrists and had taken a cocktail pills.

"I respectfully ask that the media allow me to receive care and heal in private during this difficult time," Wilson said in the statement.

Police say they responded to a "medical assistance call" at Wilson’s house after his brother, Andrew Wilson, found him in the bathroom. “The person was transported to a local hospital where they are being treated,” police said.

Other reports have suggested that Owen's attempted suicide might be because of his recent split with actress Kate Hudson, whom he starred with in comedy "You, Me and Dupree." Hudson is currently dating actor Dax Shepard.
