Harry Potter actor Rupert Grint has expressed his "disgust" at an old childhood friend's awful behavior, which has led to a caution.

Joshua Lodge, 19, was cautioned with sexual assault on a girl whose age has not been disclosed. The incident occurred at Grint's 18th birthday party last year.

Despite the teenager denying the reports, he was arrested at the time of the incident. After a court case yesterday, Ledge was spared jail time, and instead had to sign the sex offenders register.

In a statement released yesterday, Grint explained: "I am totally appalled and disgusted by the actions of Mr Joshua Lodge. I am 100 per cent behind the victim and indeed all victims affected by this type of crime."

Rupert Grint is renowned for his perception of ginger-nut Ron Weasley in the extremely popular film series of Harry Potter. The actor has already enjoyed the first five films, and has confirmed he will be doing the final two installments.
