Mandy Moore to make guest appearance on 'How I Met Your Mother'

Singer Mandy Moore is reportedly set make a guest appearance on the season premiere of ‘How I Met Your Mother.’ The brand new season of the hit comedy series starts on Monday, September 24, with Mandy Moore playing the character of Amy; the tattooed, heavy drinking girlfriend of Ted Mosby (played by Josh Radnor).

Amy and Ted meet on his first night out after a break up. “Ted is freshly single and on the rebound, and on his first night out, he meets Amy, the ultimate bad decision. She’s the tattooed, vodka swilling trainwreck that Mandy Moore thankfully never turned into. We can’t wait to see what Mandy does with it,” says one the show’s executive producers, Carter Bays.

The ‘How I Met Your Mother’ cast includes Josh Randor, who plays Ted Mosby, Jason Segel, who plays Marshall Eriksen, Cobie Smulders, who plays Robin Scherbatsky, Alyson Hannigan, who plays Lily Aldrin, and Neil Patrick Harris, who plays Barney Stinson.

Moore won’t be the only singer to make a guest appearance on the show this season. Enrique Iglesias has also signed on to play a new love interest for one of the characters. He will star as Gael, who meets Robin on vacation.

“The character, Gael, is exactly the guy you don’t want your ex-girlfriend hooking up with next,” says executive producer Craig Thomas. “In addition to being a sexy, guitar-playing surfer/massage therapist, the guy looks a lot like singer Enrique Iglesias. It drives Ted nuts.”
