Kanye West beats 50 Cent to Number 1 in the UK charts

Rapper Kanye West beat rival rapper, 50 Cent to the number one spot today, in the UK album charts - with 50's album, 'Curtis' lagging behind in the Number 2 spot.

50 Cent, whose real name is Curtis James Jackson vowed that he'd retire from making solo albums if Kanye sold more records than him.

BBC News reports that: Kanye West's album 'Graduation' is also expected to beat 50 Cent's album 'Curtis' to the top spot in the US charts, when the final chart is published on Wednesday, and early sales projections are suggesting that Kanye will sell at least 700,000 copies of his album in the US alone.
