According to reports, Jeff Kwatinetz the manager of troubled pop singer Britney Spears has quit.

The revelation came just hours after Spears' lawyer stopped representing her.

A statement issued on behalf of Britney's manager, said: "It saddens us to confirm media reports that we have terminated our professional relationship with Britney Spears," her management company The Firm said in the statement. "We believe Britney is enormously talented, and has made a terrific record. But current circumstances have prevented us from properly doing our job. We wish Britney the best."

People.com reports that, earlier in te day, Britney Spears' lawyer, Laura Wasser stepped down as her attorney in the custody battle with Kevin Federline. Wasser said Spears would be in "excellent hands" with her replacement and added, "I don't want anyone to perceive that we're dumping Britney."

This will see even more troubles erupt in the Britney Spears camp, as she continues with her fierce legal battle with former husband Kevin Federline.
