'The Hills' star Lauren Conrad has said that she almost quit the hit TV show - after a feud with her costar, Heidi Montag; saying that she almost quit before the start of the current season of the hit reality TV show.

Lauren told Seventeen magazine: "I actually came dangerously close to not doing season three, because I really didn't want to do the show with Heidi and Spencer,"

She added: "I'm not who they are. I don't stage my own publicity. I just kind of live my life and do my job, and I don't want to be grouped with them."

According to People.com, Conrad, said that the show's network, MTV argued that all the characters needed to return for the show to work.

People also reported that MTV said "Heidi and Spencer were always a part of the show, and they can't all of a sudden make main characters disappear," Conrad says. "And so we continue to follow their lives, and the producers keep letting Heidi and Spencer think there's some hope [that we'll make up]."

Conrad recently told radio DJ Ryan Seacrest on his KIIS-FM show that Heidi Montag is not the same person she used to know. In the Seventeen interview, she reflects on her broken friendship, and puts much of the blame on the reckless pursuit of fame.
