The Spice Girls sell out in 38 seconds

October 1 2007

Spice GirlsThe Spice Girls, better known in some corners as the "Spice Slags", sold their comeback concert in style as in only 38 seconds, the tickets were sold out.

The famous group, originally established in 1996, includes Victoria Beckham (Posh Spice), Geri Halliwell (Ginger Spice), Emma Bunton (Baby Spice), Melanie Brown (Scary Spice) who ironically is more famous than Posh in America. Finally making up the group is Liverpudlian singer songwriter and solo artist Mel C (Sporty Spice) who has seen success like none of the others.

Ticketmaster boss Chris Edmonds said: "It was a dramatic moment - the sales went live and there was a huge surge as fans bombarded the lines."

The reformed girl band will take to the stage at the O2 Arena in London on December 15. Tickets for two further dates - December 16 and 18 - are being sold to fans who originally registered in June.

A fourth concert in the capital, to be held on January 2 next year, is also listed on Ticketmaster's website.

The band's world tour begins in Canada on December 2.
