Britney Spears is to return to rehab in a shock move from the 'Gimme More' star, according to new reports today.

She wants to prove her sobriety, in aid of her custody battle for her two children, two-year-old Sean Preston and one-year-old Jayden James.

Yesterday a judge gave Kevin Federline custody of the two children, ordering Britney to "clean up".

A source told OK! magazine: "Britney’s team has been working closely with her attorneys to figure out a way to get the babies back from Kevin. She is surrendering herself to rehab for treatment of depression and alcohol so that there is no questioning if she is drinking or missing any future tests."
