Johnny Depp says he'll never raise a child in America

Chiming in with everyone else who has already commented...this story is over five years old (prior to the birth of Johnny's son who is 5 now)and was taken totally out of context at the time it was orginally printed. Johnny had been commenting on a recent school murder rampage in the US - one of many that have occurred in the US.

During filming of Pirates II & III, Johnny and his family lived in L.A. and the Caribbean for two years, and his daughter was enrolled in school for the first grade in L.A.

One ridiculous gossip website reruns a 5 year old story, and suddently the story is sweeping the Internet again as if it just happened. Goes to show how little "journalism" there actually is on the Internet, and how much of what we read is nothing more than gossip-mongering for the purpose of unfairly criticizing and making fun of others.

I kind of agree with him but having said that there are frightening places everywhere in the world. For example some parts of London can be a very scary places to live in. Im sure there are less fightening places in the us like there are in in uk.

Johnny is clearly referring to the changing demographic toward a non-white majority. He is a racist.

this is so old!! and even tho i do agree that america is getting worse and worse everyday and that its not exactly the best place to raise a celebrity's kid, i'm not that excited about johnny living halfway around the world(i live in the US), but whatever they have it all wrong cuz he's been raising his kids here and there

For the last two years Johnny and his family have been living mostly in LA, so get your facts straight.

i don't know how old this news may be, i just know that i totally agree with johnny. i don't live in the us, but i do know that every celebrity that lives there cant escape the photos and the paparazzi and other stuff like that and that should be SO frustrating, not only for the celebrities, but for their families too. an how on earth do some peole dare call him a racist? the fact that he considers america not good enough to raise his children safely and undisturbed has NOTHING to do with racism. i think that only racists themselves can reach this extremely wrong conclusion.

This is not only old news but as usual, only parially correct. The fact is, Johnny Depp and his partner have been alternating between the U.S. and France, since his kids were born. Try checking your facts, and try to keep current!
