According to reports, Paul McCartney and Heather Mills' divorce proceedings have broken down before a settlement has been agreed.

The estranged pair attended an eight hour hearing, lengthily negotiating, but nothing materialized, and it's back to square one.

Some reports suggest that McCartney offered Mills a £50 million sum for the charitable soul to keep her mouth shut. The Beatle star must have something to hide!

A source told the Evening Standard: "It's finished. There are no more talks planned. The whole thing broke down without agreement. A trial date has been set for February next year and that is where we are heading"
