Rocker Pete Doherty, who was recently released from a country rehab center in Wiltshire, UK has spoken to his father - whom he hasn't for three years, and he's helping him beat his drug addiction.

Pete said: "My dad has welcomed me into the fold. I can go back home and actually talk to him. We hadn't spoken for three years. He came in for family therapy at the rehab center. It was quite an emotional time."

Pete's dad, an army major kicked the troubled rocker out of his house due to a row over drugs, and told his son "come back when you're clean"

According to the Sunday Mirror, the pair reunited at the Wiltshire rehab center during an "emotional" family therapy sessions.

Pete's put on quite a bit of weight since giving up the drugs, he revealed "This is the first time I've been clean for seven weeks in eight years. I'm not going to lie and say it's not a struggle. It is."

The "Babyshambles" front man added: "I have had a bit of trouble with complete abstinence. I've had the odd Guinness. But I'm quite proud, particularly for my mum and dad. It's been a big change in their life"

The singer, who still faces time in prison - owing to several drug and car offenses, and was told to attend rehab as part of his bail conditions spoke of the tough regime at the rehab center, and how it forced him to change his bad boy ways: "They didn't encourage me to write songs, I was only allowed to take in two books. They call it 'isolating'".

Doherty also has a new girlfriend - Irina Lazareanu - who he got back with after his split from model Kate Moss a few months back.
