Pete Doherty wants to turn his home into a creative haven
Pete Doherty, who was recently released from a Wiltshire rehab clinic, has said that he wants to turn his Wiltshire home into a creative haven for him and his friends - one of which includes troubled singer Amy Winehouse.
Doherty and Winehouse became good pals just before Pete admitted himself off to rehab in August.
And, according to The Sun newspaper, Amy's husband Blake Fielder-Civil turned up at Pete's country home last week to film him in action doing an interview for London radio station Xfm — which will be aired tomorrow. According to the singer's rehab assessment, Pete needs to feel reassured all the time. Last week he said: “Apparently I’ve got loads of self-esteem issues.”
Meanwhile, Doherty has reunited with his estranged father after three years, Pete said: “My dad has welcomed me into the fold. I can go back home and actually talk to him. We hadn’t spoken for three years. He came in for family therapy at the rehab center. It was quite an emotional time.”
Pete’s dad, an army major kicked the troubled rocker out of his house due to a row over drugs, and told his son “come back when you’re clean”
According to the Sunday Mirror, the pair reunited at the Wiltshire rehab center during an “emotional” family therapy sessions.
Pete’s put on quite a bit of weight since giving up the drugs, he revealed “This is the first time I’ve been clean for seven weeks in eight years. I’m not going to lie and say it’s not a struggle. It is.”
