Glastonbury News: Good news for Unsigned bands!
There's some good news for unsigned bands as organisers of Glastonbury have announced that they are going to set up a time in next year's event when unsigned bands get a chance to impress them - for one night only.
For the moment, they will be looking at unsigned bands locally, as The Social club in London plays host to a feast of new bands looking for some attention.
Festival organiser Emily Eavis told the BBC about the new scheme: "We're really after unsigned acts and finding the best new acts from all corners of the country and beyond.
"The aim is to collect as many new bands as possible throughout the year and build up a strong roster of new acts."
The bands that are chosen for the event will perform on the smaller stages, but Eavis claims it could help launch their careers further, saying: "We've had some brilliant debut sets throughout the years, where bands start at Glastonbury on a very small stage and end up playing the Pyramid in a few years."
