J.K. Rowling has revealed that she is shocked by the uproar from fans following her announcement that the great wizard of the Harry Potter novels, the man who Harry idolizes upon, is actually gay.

More than 3,000 comments have been posted on Potter fansite 'Leaky Cauldron' regarding the big spoiler by Rowling, and most of them attacked her choice, as homophobic remarks rang through the site, probably resulting in Rowling crying in deep regret of what she had done in the first place.

The ever successful author was shocked following the reaction of what she said at that fateful Carnegie Hall in New York last week.

She said: "It has certainly never been news to me that a brave and brilliant man could love other men.

"He is my character. He is what he is and I have the right to say what I say about him."
