Amy Winehouse: Blake saved me
Troubled British singer Amy Winehouse has revealed that she thought “on the way out” after her drug overdose in August.
Amy came close to death, but according Britain's The Sun newspaper, the 'Rehab' star has a rather strange take on why she is still alive; dismissing the work of the doctors and nurses who saved her life, Amy claimed that it was husband Blake Fielder-Civil who was her savior Blake, of course being the same man who left her in hospital to go for another fix.
Amy said: “I really thought I was on the way out. My husband Blake saved my life, brought me into the hospital. Often I don’t know what I do. Then the next day the memory returns. Blake told me later what had happened and then I was engulfed in shame.
“Recently I saw a picture of when I came out of the hospital. I didn’t recognise myself.
“I believe I live through pain. If you suffer for something, it means to me that it is not unimportant.”
Winehouse also revealed how she has battled depression since her teens and “felt that a black cloud hangs over me”.
She added: “Since then I have taken pills for depression but they slowed me down. I believe there are lots of people who have these mood changes.
“I just have this great good luck to have found this outlet — my music.”
