Paris Hilton's Rwanda trip to take place in 2008
Paris Hilton's postponed trip to Rwanda, that was due to take place in November, will now take place in 2008, it has been reported, and the hotel heiress is set on bringing the suffering of other cultures to the attention of a younger generation.
The 'Simple Life' star told Extra: "We were supposed to be going in November, but then the charity is doing restructuring and figuring things out, it's going to be for next year."
Paris also insisted that her philanthropic spirit will not be diminished by the temporary setback.
"I want to travel the world," she says. "I feel like there's a lot I can do, and a lot I can do to help. I know [Rwanda] went through a lot of traumatic experiences, and I feel like if I go there, I can help save some people's lives."
The African nation was the scene of genocide in 1994.
According to People.com, the socialite envisages her role as a motivational one for a younger generation not well versed in charity work.
"I lot of people do help, but they may be in the older generation," she says. "I want kids to know, even if you're 15 or 16 years old, you can do something."
