Britney Spears: "I'm a good mother"
Train wreck pop princess Britney Spears has insisted that she is a "good mother" and is "doing what she believes is best for her children."
Spears, whose new album 'Blackout', is surprisingly being quite well received by critics - last month lost custody of her two sons, two-year-old Sean Preston, and 13-month-old Jayden James to ex-husband, Kevin Federline.
Britney, speaking to Ryan Seacrest on his KIIS FM morning show said: "People say what they want and do what they do. It's really sad how people - how cruel our world can be. But at the end of the day you've got to know in your heart that you are doing the best that you can.
"As long as you know what's up and what's true, then that's all that matters."
25-year-old Britney also revealed she celebrated the successful release of new album,'Blackout' by munching on fried chicken: "It was kind of laid back, really. We watched a scary movie, and ate fried chicken - that's about it!"
When asked which track on the album had the most meaning for her, she replied: "I really like 'Heaven on Earth'. I think it's a cool track. It's kind of different from all the other songs."
Then Britney made herself look even worse - she disappeared halfway through the (phone) interview to have a shower.
When Ryan rang back 10 minutes later, Alli Sims, Brit's assistant told him the singer's children had just arrived, and Britney was too "busy" to carry on with the interview.
A friend of Spears then concluded: "We're going to get the kids ready and we'll go trick and treating. There's a variety of costumes for them to choose from, so we'll see what happens!"
Despite frequent requests from Ryan for Britney to send a message to her fans, the singer refused to come back on air - instead relaying messages through her assistant.
