Amy Winehouse gets US visa
Troubled British singer Amy Winehouse has finally been granted a visa to allow her to work in America.
According to reports, Winehouse, 24, who scooped the Artists Choice gong at the European Music Awards in Munich, Germany last week, was refused entry to the States, following her drugs arrest in Norway in October.
According to Britain’s Mirror newspaper, after Winehouse had a formal interview with US authorities - she’ll be off to start work on her third album.
However, the ‘Rehab’ singer will be flying back to support husband Blake who appears in court on an assault charge on Monday.
Last week, it was revealed that Amy was going to appeal the drugs charges she received in Norway - after claiming she didn’t understand that accepting a fine in Norway is the same as pleading guilty – which “could affect her ability to work in the U.S.” - At the time, Amy’s lawyer, Oleg Kvelstad said: “This is an appeal of errors police made in the case, if Amy is allowed to withdraw her acceptance of the fine, her case would likely go to trial.”

I hope she is playing gigs while in the US… I tried to get tix to either Mpls. or Chicago when her tour was scheduled and they were sold out… is she only recording? … this is unclear.

i’m a professional studiomusician as well and have been booked by a famous US rockband for studiotime but have been denied for working visa twice! and i have neither a drug problem nor have i ever been in trouble in the USA. but this trainwreck gets a visa? i wonder how much she paid for it!
as long as ami is adicted to drugs she will buy drugs and she will do so in the USA. that means she illegaly purchase a illegal substance which is against the law! despite the fact she is a famous singer, i won’t give her access to the united states! not before she has a clean drugtest prove! such things make me angry.

Amy is such a waste of amazing talent! I just hope the poor girl wakes up one day and realizes what she has going for her. So many people would kill to have such a gift and she is just throwing it away! Its quite a shame, really. I pray for her and hope she prays as well! Wake-Up Amy!

Life is so unfair. A drugged up junkie has no problem getting a visa into the U.S, meanwhile my boyfriend (who is now my husband) lived there for 7 years and I wasn’t granted a visa to go join him, I’m hard working, non drug taking and oh yeah I’m Irish. What a load of crap.
