Celine Dion & Oprah WinfreyCeline Dion made fans dreams come true on The Oprah Winfrey Show by singing their favourite songs.

The Canadian singer, 39, appeared on the one-off special on Monday to take song requests from a studio audience made up of her biggest fans.

Dion performed a number of tracks for her fans including, the Roy Orbison classic 'I Drove All Night,' and her own hits 'Because You Loved Me, and her biggest song to date, 'My Heart Will Go On,' taken from the soundtrack to The Titanic.

The Grammy-Award winner also squeezed in two new songs from her forthcoming album, including new single Taking Chances and Alone.

Dion has spent nearly five years in Las Vegas performing an extravaganza show at Ceasars Palace, but she told Oprah, she still finds it interesting, despite playing the same gig every night.

She said: "You know the crowd and the people there is different every night to start with. Nights you don't feel so good, you go on, they give you the energy you need."

She cheekily added: "Every day that the show started was kind of a new day," a reference to the title of her Las Vegas show, New Day.

The singer also spoke of performing that first show, after her father died in 2003.

"I felt bad for the people who heard me sing because nothing come out right. But I opened my soul on that opening night and they saw that."

She added: " I wanted to do the show for my dad and I'm happy I did it.

Dion's new album Taking Chances is out on Tuesday.
