Coroner fails to pinpoint the cause of Kanye West's mother's death
A coroner's officer last night announced the autopsy into the death of rapper
Kanye West's mother had failed to pinpoint the cause of death.
Captain Ed Winter said although the autopsy into Donda West, 58, was unable to find the exact cause of death other toxicology tests were still pending.
West was pronounced dead at 8:49 p.m. November 10 after being found unresponsive in her Los Angeles home.
Winter said the death had been reported as one resulting from possible complications from cosmetic surgery performed on November 9.
Winter said: "West was released to her home following the surgery on Nov. 9. On Nov. 10, she was found unresponsive after being in respiratory distress.
"He was taken to Centinela Freeman Regional Medical Center where efforts to preserve her life proved unsuccessful.''
Asked if there was any indication of a heart attack or blood clot, Winter said he would have to wait for toxicology tests to be certain.
Winter added: "West had several minor medical issues, but I cannot comment on any of those.''
It has been reported that West underwent a combined procedure that included a breast reduction and a tummy tuck.
The doctor who performed the surgery, plastic surgeon Dr. Jan Adams, Claims he did nothing wrong.
Adams has said the death was unforeseen and could have been caused by a heart attack, pulmonary embolism or massive vomiting.
A Beverly Hills plastic surgeon, Dr. Andre Aboolian, has also come forward to say he refused to perform the surgery on West just weeks before her death because of a pre-existing medical condition.
