Leona Lewis' album goes platinum

November 14 2007

Leona LewisX-factor winner Leona Lewis has been presented with gold and platinum discs for her new single and album.

Comedian Paul O'Grady presented the songstress with a platinum disc for album Spirit and gold disc for number one single Bleeding Love.

Spirit, released earlier this month, is on course to become the UK's fastest selling album, set to have sold 300,000 copies and certified platinum by the end of the week.

That would put the 22-year-old former secretary ahead of indie band Artic Monkeys who sold 363,735 copies of Whatever People Say I am, That's What I'm Not within a week of its release in January last year.

Bleeding Love, in its third week at number one, has already sold more than 400,000 copies.

Meanwhile Grady wasn't left out of the awards ceremony on ITV's The Paul O'Grady Show. He was voted favourite television personality by readers of the TV Times.
