I'm A Celebrity contestant Katie Hopkins braves 20,000 cockroaches

November 16 2007

I'm a Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here!I'm a Celebrity contestant Katie Hopkins showed the kind of determination that got her through The Apprentice when she took on her first bush tucker trial.

The out spoken blonde stuck out ten minutes in a coffin surrounded by 20,000 cockroaches to win a meal for every member of her camp.

Hopkins overcame her fear off creepy crawlies by likening the challenge to a beauty treatment but there was another shock to come when the coffin was suspended more than 60 metres over a ravine.

She said: "If you could have picked my worst nightmare and really wanted to punish me this would probably be it."

During the trial she said: "It's like child birth but worse. They are biting pretty hard and they're up my bits as well."

Meanwhile former EastEnders actor Marc Bannerman added fuel to rumours that he and Catatonia front woman Cerys Matthews were getting cosy by leaving his bed in the middle of the night to star gaze with her.

He said: "The good view's from my bed over there. Come and have a look at the view of the stars from my bed."

Cerys asked Bannerman if he could put on a South Africa accent. When he managed to pull it off, she said: "I don't know why but it does something to me."

Bannerman replied: "Right, I better start talking like this all of the time then."

The contestants from teams Croc Creek and Snake Rock are now living together as one camp but the change has come to a shock to some contestants.

Football pundit Rodney Marsh said: "The dynamic has changed dramatically basically because of Janice. She is a spoilt prat. It's all selfish, all me me me."

Dickinson one of the world's first supermodels, was picked to take her on fourth bush tucker trail called jungle jeopardy.

The moaning brunette wasn't alone in the challenge though. There was another shock to come when a new contestant arrived in camp to help her out actor Christopher Biggins.

The duo had to recover stars from boxes filled with rats and snakes using their hands and mouths.

Dickinson only managed to win one star. She said: "I'm just a loser at this.

Biggins is the star of the day."

Biggins managed to win six stars.
